A brief introduction – who is Jeannine Clontz?

Hello,

I’ve owned and operated my own VA practice for more than ten years. About two years into it, I was ready to throw in the towel and go back to corporate America. Luckily, a competitor I had done some sub-contractor work for told me something incredible…she told me not to give up. She said that I did great work, had wonderful skills and that I really presented myself very professionally.

She also said that it usually takes 3-5 years for you to turn the corner and start really making an income from this type of a business. So, I pulled up my bootstraps and went on to make about every mistake possible in starting and growing a business.

Then in 2005 I was approached by a member of the International Virtual Assistants Association (www.ivaa.org) who asked if I’d ever thought about writing a book about how to start a VA practice. She thought that since I was currently the president of IVAA, it might be good timing. So my dear friend and awesome editor, Lauren Hidden, spent the next eight months with me creating Entrepreneurial Freedom, How to Start and Grow a Profitable Virtual Assistance Practice.

The rest, as they say, is history. Not only has the book proven to be wildly successful to people looking to start such a small business, but we were also asked by several community colleges to create a companion workbook so they could include our book as a part of their continuing education curriculum. Then last summer I was contacted by a local community college who wanted me to teach the course.
